Did you review the Wiper/Washer System Circuit Description and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Turn ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  3. Turn the ignition ON.
  4. Set the wiper/washer switch to LO.
  5. Connect a J 35616-200 from wiper motor connector terminal E to ground.

Is the test light on?

Connect a J 35616-200 (backprobe) from terminal E5 at the wiper/washer switch connector C201C to ground.

Is the test light on?

--

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in CKT 112.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

Measure the voltage from terminal D to ground at the windshield wiper motor connector using a J 39200 .

Is the voltage within the specified value?

10.5-15 V

Go to Step 7

Replace the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Measure the voltage from terminal E8 to ground at the wiper/washer switch connector C201C using a J 39200 .

Is the voltage within the specified value?

10.5-15 V

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in CKT 113.

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
