Did you review the Wiper/Washer System Circuit Description and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  3. Turn the ignition ON.
  4. Set the wiper/washer switch to OFF.
  5. Connect a J 35616-200 from wiper motor connector terminal E to ground.

Is the test light on?

Go to Step 3

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 112.

If no short circuit is found, replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Go to Step 9

Connect a J 35616-200 from wiper motor connector terminal D to ground.

Is the test light on?

--

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 113.

If no short circuit is found, replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Connect a J 35616-200 from wiper motor connector terminal C to ground.

Is the test light on?

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 92.

If no short is found, replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Replace the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .
