Diagnose and repair the wiper system. Go to Symptoms .

Remove and inspect the W/W PMP fuse.

Is the fuse open?

Inspect for a short to ground in CKT 228.

Is a short to ground present?

Replace the W/W PMP fuse.

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  2. Connect a J 35616-200 (backprobe) from terminal E9 at the wiper/washer switch connector C201C to ground.
  3. Turn the washer switch ON while backprobing.

Is the test light on?

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Connect a J 35616-200 from terminal A of the W/W PMP fuse to ground using the J 35616 .
  2. Turn the washer switch ON.

Is the test light on?

Go to Step 11

Repair the open in CKT 94.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reinstall the fuse.
  2. Disconnect the windshield washer pump connector.
  3. Connect a J 35616-200 from the washer pump connector (harness side), terminal A to ground.
  4. Move the washer switch to ON.

Is the test light on?

Repair the open in CKT 228.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a J 35616-200 from the washer pump connector (harness side), terminal A to terminal B.

Is the test light on?

Repair the open in CKT 150.
