Schematic Reference: Radio/Audio System Schematics

Did you review the Radio/ Audio Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Radio/Audio System Description and Radio/Audio System Operation

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Turn ON the radio.
3. Turn ON the speed compensated volume(SCV) control on the radio.
4. Perform a road test of the vehicle in order to verify the descrepancy.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

1. Disconnect the radio.
2. Test the Vehicle speed signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 4

Inspect for poor connections at the radio. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in wiring systems.

Did you find and correct the condition.

Go to Step 5

Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement for service procedure.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
