Did you review the Radio/Audio System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Radio/Audio System Description and Radio/Audio System Operation

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Turn ON the radio.
3. Insert a tape/CD or CD magazine, with at least 1 audio CD inside, into the remote playback device.
4. Operate the remote playback device.

Does the remote playback device play on the right and left audio channels?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Test the appropriate (left or right) audio output for an open, short or high resistance.Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

1. Disconnect the remote playback device.
2. Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the remote playback device. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in wiring systems.

1. Disconnect the radio.
2. Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the Radio.Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in wiring systems.

Replace the remote playback device. Refer to Remote Compact Disc Player Replacement for service procedure.
