IMPORTANT:

  1. Inspect the condition of 4WD, Megafuse® and the fuse link. If any fuse or fuse link is open, test all of the related circuits for short to ground. If the fuse continues to fail locate and repair source of the overload. Refer to Power Distribution Schematics .
  2. Verify that grounds G100, G104, G105 and G106 are clean and tight.

  1. Disconnect the auxiliary battery relay connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to run.
  3. Test the control circuit of the auxiliary battery relay for a open.

Does the J 39200 voltage measure near the specified value?

9-14  Volts

Go to Step 3

Measure the fused ignition positive voltage from the control circuit of the auxiliary battery relay to the ground circuit of the auxiliary battery relay.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

9-14  Volts

Measure the voltage between the auxiliary battery relay output circuit and ground of the auxiliary battery relay.

Does voltage measure near the specified value?

9-14  Volts

Measure the voltage between the fused battery positive voltage of the auxiliary battery relay and ground of the auxiliary battery relay.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

9-14  Volts

Repair the open in the fused ignition positive voltage positive voltage circuit between the auxiliary battery relay and the fuse block.

Repair the open in the ground circuit between the auxiliary battery relay and ground.

Repair open in the fused battery positive voltage circuit between the auxiliary battery relay and the junction block including the fuse link.

Locate and repair the open in auxiliary battery relay output circuit between the auxiliary battery relay and RH battery including the Megafuse®.
