• | The optional defogger consists of a heating element bonded to
the inside surface of the rear glass. |
• | The defogger uses an instrument panel mounted switch with an integral
indicator lamp. |
| The integral indicator lamp allows the defogger to run for 5 to 10 minutes
before being turned OFF by an automatic timer. |
| The system can be turned OFF at any time during the timer function. |
• | In order to turn the defogger OFF, press the defogger switch or
turn the ignition OFF. |
• | When the defogger is ON, an indicator light is illuminated. |
• | A 12 volt current flows through the relay and out to the
resistive heating elements on the rear window, allowing the defogger to operate. |
• | The current enters the grid from the left side of the window and
leaves the grid heater from the right side of the window. |
• | The ground circuit is on the right side of the cab. |
• | The length of time required to remove interior fog varies under
the following conditions: |
- | Outside glass temperature |
• | The rear window harness plugs into a connector at the fuse panel
and leads to the instrument panel mounted switch. |
| The harness then continues from the switch routed along the left rocker
panel area to the rear of the cab. At this point, the switch is routed up
to where the harness meets the grid connector at the back glass. |
