Does the system operate normally?

  1. Disconnect the front vertical motor.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the front vertical motor control circuits.
  3. Operate the power seat switch to the front up and front down positions.

Did the test lamp illuminate for each switch position?

Test the control circuits of the front vertical motor for a open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the power seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

  3. Connect a test lamp between the power seat switch front vertical up and down control circuits.
  4. Operate the power seat switch to the front vertical up and down positions.
