Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement Extended Cab

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 408533  Size: SH
  3. Release the J clip on the rear of the seat cushion and pull back the trim cover far enough to expose the side bolts (2).
  4. Remove the cushion side bolts.
  5. Disconnect the seat pull strap cable (3).
  6. Remove the cushion from the seat.
  7. Using a side motion, pull the remainder of the trim cover off the cushion.
  8. Separate the foam pad from the cushion frame.

Installation Procedure

  1. Attach the foam pad onto the cushion.
  2. Carefully pull the trim cover over the cushion.

  3. Object Number: 408533  Size: SH
  4. Connect the seat pull strap cable (3).
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Before the cover is fully pulled over the frame, install the cushion side bolts (2) in order to attach the seat cushion to the seat.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  8. Pull the trim cover over the remainder of the cushion.
  9. Attach the J-clip on the rear of the seat cushion.
  10. Ensure proper routing of the seat pull strap cable.

  11. Install the rear seat into the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement

Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement 60/40 Split

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 276324  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear passenger seat from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear passenger seat riser.
  3. Remove the seat back from the seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  4. Remove the hog rings (3) from the rear edge of the seat cushion cover (1).
  5. Remove the seat belt buckles. Refer to Front Seat Belt Buckle Replacement .
  6. Remove all the remaining hog rings (3) retaining the seat cushion cover (1) to the seat cushion frame (4).
  7. Release the hook and the loop strips retaining the seat cushion cover to the foam pad (2).
  8. Remove the seat cushion cover from the foam pad (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat cushion cover (1) to the foam pad (2).
  2. Engage the hook and the loop strips retaining the seat cushion cover to the foam pad.
  3. Install the seat buckles. Refer to Front Seat Belt Buckle Replacement .
  4. Install the hog rings (3) to retain the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame.
  5. Install the seat back to the seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  6. Install the rear passenger seat risers.
  7. Install the rear passenger seat to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .

Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement Suburban/Yukon XL 40/40 Bucket

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear passenger seat from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 276675  Size: MH
  3. Remove the rear passenger seat riser.
  4. Remove the seat back from the seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  5. Remove the hog rings from the rear edge of the seat cushion cover (3).
  6. Remove the seat belt buckles. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle and Latch Replacement - Rear .
  7. Remove all the remaining hog rings retaining the seat cushion cover (3) to the seat cushion frame (8).
  8. Release the hook and the loop strips retaining the seat cushion cover to the foam pad (4).
  9. Remove the seat cushion cover from the foam pad.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat cushion cover (8) to the foam pad (7).

  2. Object Number: 276675  Size: MH
  3. Engage the hook and the loop strips retaining the seat cushion cover (3) to the foam pad (4).
  4. Install the seat buckles. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle and Latch Replacement - Rear .
  5. Install the hog rings in order to retain the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame (8).
  6. Install the seat back to the seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  7. Install the rear passenger seat risers.
  8. Install the rear passenger seat to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .

Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement Extended Cab w/4th Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
