Service VME - Sliding Rear Window Availability

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Due to a less than robust design, the rear sliding back glass window (RPO A28) was removed from production and service in the 2000 calendar year. Recently, two new sliding rear windows are now available for service on a ship direct basis : P/N 12498122 (light tint) and P/N 12498123 (deep tint) ; these rear sliders will fit all model year GMT800 pickups. Going forward, any replacements of 1999-2000 model year pickups with the rear sliding window (A28) should be filled by one of the aforementioned GM parts rather than by aftermarket products.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
