2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 with RPO JF3 or JF7 Creak/Twang Noise On Brake Pedal Apply or Release - keywords booster brake disc drum front rear spring

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Some customers may comment on a Creak/Twang type noise when the brake pedal is applied or released. The noise is normally only heard with the engine off.

To correct this concern replace the brake booster assembly with part number 15250764. Vehicles built after November 15, 2004 already have the updated brake booster.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
