The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that windshield lace is detaching from the glass at the top of the windshield on 2005 MY Oshawa (1 in VIN position 11) pickup trucks. Root cause was an excessive gap at the top of windshield glass during installation which was corrected on June 18, 2005.
Recommendation/Instructions:
It is possible to address this issue without replacing the entire windshield glass by applying a thin bead of urethane in the channel of a new lace molding (P/N 88980304) and then roll it onto the windshield.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
