J-47275 TCM Breakout Harness Adapter
• | Required for checking vehicle harness circuit integrity by isolating the TCM to perform resistance and voltage checks. |
• | Works in combination with the J-39700 Universal Breakout Box (100 Pin Breakout Box). |
• | An overlay specific for the J-47275 is included with the harness for use with J-39700 Universal Breakout Box. |
Important: To prevent misdiagnosis of electrical codes or the possibility of creating electrical codes or open circuits, the TCM connector retaining bolt MUST be tightened to 3.2 N·m (28 lb in) during
diagnosis and the cam lever on the chassis harness connector MUST be in the LOCK position when connected to J-47275.
Caution:
• | Failure to not properly tighten the TCM connector retaining bolt or properly position cam lever in the LOCK position could inadvertently supply voltage to the starter relay, allowing the engine to crank or start, if certain combinations of connector
circuits make and break contact while the ignition switch is in the RUN position. |
• | The ignition switch must always be in the OFF position when removing or installing the TCM from the TCM Breakout Harness or from the chassis wiring harness to avoid the possibility of the engine cranking over or starting during diagnosis or repairs. |
The TCM connector retaining bolt on J-47275 MUST be tightened to 3.2 N·m (28 lb in) during diagnosis and repairs. The cam lever on the chassis harness connector MUST be in the LOCK position whenever the TCM is connected to
the chassis harness or J-47275 TCM Breakout Harness Adapter.
The ignition switch must be in the OFF position when disconnecting and connecting the TCM harness.
