The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that their Outside Rear View Camper Mirror (RPO DPN) takes excessive force to extend. Root cause appears to be that the inner bracket springs were too small in diameter.
Recommendation/Instructions:
While engineering is pursing a design improvements, dealers should lube both the upper and lower tubes with LPS 1 greaseless lubricant or equivalent to allow for easier mirror extension. Apply lubricant (aerosol) to both upper and lower tubes, extend mirrors and re-apply lube to the tubes. Extend and retract mirror several times to complete process.
