CONDITION: (FIGURE 1)
SOME OWNERS OF THE LISTED VEHICLES WITH A ONE PIECE PROP SHAFT BUILT BEFORE OCTOBER 7, 1994 (JULIAN DATE 280) MAY COMMENT ABOUT A LEAK AT THE REAR EXTENSION HOUSING. THIS IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED FACING UP-HILL.
THIS CONDITION IS DUE TO A LACK OF A GREASE SLEEVE ON THE OUTPUT SHAFT.
CORRECTION: (FIGURE 2)
ORDER AND INSTALL A NEW GREASE SLEEVE (690) AND SEAL ONTO THE OUTPUT SHAFT. THE PROP SHAFT SEAL (03764601) IS TO BE PRE-INSTALLED INTO THE INNER LIP OF THE SLEEVE (690). REFER TO YOUR SERVICE MANUAL FOR PROPER REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES.
