SUBJECT: New Oil Pan Assembly with Drain Plug

VEHICLE APPLICATIONS: G - Van

Condition:

---------- Some HYDRA-MATIC 4L80E/4L80-EHD transmissions will have a new pan assembly with a drain plug. This design allows drainage of transmission fluid without removing the boftom pan.

Cause:

------ Customer request for improved serviceability.

Correction:

----------- New torque specification for the drain plug is 25 lb. ft.

Date of Production (Figures 1 & 2):

Starting October 8,1991 (Julian Date 281) all 1992 AFP, MHP, and MPP HYDRA-MATIC 4L80E/4L80-EHD models were built with the new oil pan assembly.
