INFO ON NEW OIL PAN ASSEMBLY WITH DRAIN PLUG(4L80E/4L80EHD)

TRANSMISSION APPLICATIONS: SUBJECT: 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80E/4L80-EHD NEW OIL PAN ASSEMBLY WITH DRAIN (MT1) PLUG

Condition:

--------- Some HYDRA-MATIC 4L80E/4L80-EHD transmissions will have a new pan assembly with a drain plug. This design allows drainage of transmission fluid without removing the bottom pan.

Cause:

----- Customer request for improved serviceability.

Correction:

---------- New torque specification for the drain plug is 25 lb. ft.

Date of Production (Figures 1 & 2) :

Starting October 8, 1991 (Julian Date 281) all 1992 AFP, MHP, and MPP HYDRA-MATIC 4L80E/4L80-EHD models were built with the new oil pan assembly.
