Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Camshaft position sensor.

  3. Object Number: 12799  Size: MH
  4. Remove the camshaft position sensor retaining screw.
  5. Remove the camshaft position sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor .

  2. Object Number: 12799  Size: MH
  3. Install the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor retaining screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 4-6 N·m(35-53 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
