For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Remove the oil pan gasket from the gasket surface.
  2. Clean the parts in solvent. Remove all sludge and varnish.
  3. Check the gasket flanges for bending or damage.
  4. Inspect the rubber grommets and the parts on the valve rocker arm cover for deterioration.
  5. Inspect the oil pan for rock damage or cracks.
  6. Inspect the oil pan drain plug threads for stripping.
  7. Inspect the oil pan oil deflector for lack of fit.
  8. Inspect the valve rocker arm cover gasket for damage. Replace if necessary.
  9. Inspect the oil pan gasket for damage. Replace if necessary.
