Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cables. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air intake duct.
  3. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the coolant reservoir.
  5. Remove the engine oil level indicator tube at the valve rocker arm cover.
  6. Remove the engine oil level indicator bracket at the valve rocker arm cover.
  7. Remove the oil engine level indicator tube O-ring from the engine oil tube.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new O-ring seal to the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Install the engine oil level indicator tube to the engine.
  3. Install the engine oil level indicator tube bracket to the valve rocker arm cover.
  4. Install the coolant reservoir.
  5. Install the engine cover.
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly and air intake duct.
  7. Connect the negative battery cables.
