Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 32086 Size: SH
  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the engine front cover to block joint. Apply the sealant for about 25 mm (1 in) in both directions from each of the four corners.

  2. Object Number: 32080 Size: SH
  3. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the rear crankshaft seal to block joint. Apply the sealant for about 25 mm (1 in) in both directions from each of the four corners.
  4. Install the oil pan gasket to the oil pan.

  5. Object Number: 64918 Size: SH
  6. Install the oil pan to the engine.
  7. Install the oil pan reinforcements, bolts, and nuts.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the oil pan bolts and nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the transmission oil cooler line retainer to the bracket.
  10. Install the flywheel inspection cover.
  11. Install the exhaust crossover pipe. Refer to Exhaust System.
