  1. Remove the transmission fluid pressure manual valve position bolts (76) and the TFP valve position switch (40).
  2. Important: The five O-rings should remain attached to the TFP valve position switch (40).

  3. Remove the control valve assembly bolts (35).
  4. Remove the fluid level indicator stop bracket (43).
  5. Remove the lube oil pipe retainer (37) and the clamp (38).
  6. Remove the lube oil pipe (39).
  7. Remove the manual shaft detent spring assembly (41).
  8. Remove the control valve assembly (44) including the following:
  9. • The accumulator housing assembly (51)
    • The control valve assembly to the spacer plate gasket (45)
    • The spacer plate
    • The accumulator gasket (47)

  10. Remove the manual valve (319) from the control valve body (301) to prevent any damage.
  11. Inspect the manual valve for nicks and burrs.

  12. Object Number: 28385  Size: SH
  13. Remove the spacer plate to case gasket (48) from the case. The gasket may stick to the spacer plate.
  14. Remove the PWM screen (75) from the case passages.
  15. Inspect the PWM screen for debris and damage.

  16. Object Number: 28386  Size: SH

    Important: Do not use a magnet in order to remove the checkballs. This may magnetize the checkballs, causing metal particles to stick.

  17. Remove the eight checkballs (54) (nine checkballs for some models).
