SPEEDOMETER WHINE OR BUZZING NOISE (NEW P/N)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1988 - 89 C/K TRUCKS

Some vehicles may experience a high pitched whine or buzzing nolse that originates from the speedometer when the vehicle is in motion.

A sound deadening rubber gasket has been added between the speedometer drive motor and the back of the speedometer assembly to eliminate noise in new speedometers.

Dealers may either order the assembly from CANSPO for replacement in-house.

For in-house repair, the new speedometer assembly part numbers are 16131605 for early production vehicles and 16128249 for later production vehicles with red indicator on speedometer dial.
