General Motors has determined that certain 1990 C/K 1500-3500 Series light model trucks were produced at the Oshawa Truck Assembly Plant with incorrect certification labels. The month/year was printed as 01/89 instead of 01/90 on these labels although the trucks were assembled correctly.
To correct this condition, a new certification label is to be affixed to each involved vehicle. Since a new label can be easily installed, and to reduce owner inconvenience, new certification labels will be sent directly to owners of record. owners may install the new label or ask a dealer to perform the service at no charge to the owner.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
