Engine Flywheel Replacement Automatic

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transmission.

  2. Object Number: 64554  Size: SH
  3. Remove the flywheel bolts.
  4. Remove the flywheel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 64554  Size: SH
  1. Install the flywheel.
  2. Install the flywheel bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 90 N·m (65 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transmission.

Engine Flywheel Replacement Dual Mass and Manual

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission assembly. Refer to Manual Transmission.
  2. Remove the clutch and the clutch housing. Refer to Clutch.

  3. Object Number: 67985  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts and the washers.
  5. Remove the retainer plate.
  6. Remove the flywheel.
  7. Remove the dowel pin (if equipped).

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the flywheel on the crankshaft flange.
  2. Coat the threads of the flywheel attaching bolts with sealant.

  3. Object Number: 67985  Size: SH
  4. Install the dowel pin (if equipped).
  5. Install the retainer plate.
  6. Install the washers and the bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 90 N·m (65 lb ft).

  9. Install the clutch and the clutch housing.
