    Important: The oil pan must be installed and the fasteners tightened while the sealant is still wet to the touch.

  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12345739 or the equivalent in two sealant points where rear crankshaft bearing cap meets the engine block (1).
  2. Apply sealant GM P/N 12345739 or the equivalent in two sealant points where engine front cover meets the block.

  4. Install the oil pan gasket onto the engine block.

  5. Object Number: 351803  Size: SH
  6. Install the oil pan.

  7. Object Number: 351809  Size: SH
  8. Loosely install the left side oil pan bolts.

  9. Object Number: 351806  Size: SH
  10. Loosely install the right side oil pan bolts.
  11. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  12. Install the oil pan bolts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  14. Install the oil pan drain plug.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  16. Install the transmission oil cooler pipe clip (RPO MT1).
  17. Install the transmission oil cooler pipe clip bolt (RPO MT1).
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission oil cooler pipe clip bolt to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
