Removal Procedure
- Press the mounting adapter
clip (5) away from the AF ECU (6).
- Lift the AF ECU from the mounting adapter.
- Support the AF ECU and engine harness away from the mounting adapter.
- Remove the mounting adapter
bolts (1) and the mounting adapter.
- Remove the mounting bracket bolts (2,3) and the mounting
bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Place the mounting bracket
on the fenderwell.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the mounting
bracket bolts (2,3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
- Place the mounting adapter on the mounting bracket ensuring the
open area of the mounting adapter is facing in-board.
- Install the adapter mounting bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (108 lb in).
- Install the rearward side
of the AF ECU (6) into the mounting adapter rear clips.
- Press down on the AF ECU until the mounting adapter clip (5)
snaps over the AF ECU.
