with 4L60-E Automatic Transmissions (RPOs M30 and M32) |
Starting with 4L60-E transmissions built after Julian date 1002, the valve body (350), spacer plate (48), and valve body gaskets (47 and 52) have been changed due to full annular port exhaust on the TCC regulator valve (380). Figure 1, item 1, shows the affected area prior to the valve body change, and Figure 1, item 2, shows the changed area on the new valve body. Figure 2 shows how to identify the previous gaskets and spacer plate vs. the new gaskets and spacer plate. These revised parts will back service all 1998-2001, 4L60-E transmissions M30 and M32.
Notice: Due to the valve body change, the gaskets and spacer plate also change and must be used together as a set. Do not mix any of these components. Failure to use the parts as a set will cause improper function.
The revised gaskets and spacer plates can also be used with valve bodies that do not have a revised, full annular port exhaust. Refer to the matrix below to determine the type of gasket and spacer plate required.
Valve Body Style Used | Gasket Style Needed | Spacer Plate Style Needed |
---|---|---|
Previous (Figure 1, Item 1) | Previous or Current (Figure 2) | Previous or Current (Figure 2) |

Three new service packages have been created to include combinations of the new full annular port valve body, valve body spacer plate, and valve body spacer plate gaskets. Refer to your GMSPO Parts Catalog to determine the proper P/Ns.
