Removal Procedure
- Remove the right front fender wheelhouse inner panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Remove the oil level indicator.
- Remove the right exhaust manifold. Refer to
Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side
in Engine Exhaust.
- Remove the starter motor. Refer to
Starter Motor Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the heater outlet hose bracket nut (1) and bolt (2).
- Remove the fuel injection control module
bracket bolt that holds the oil level indicator tube.
- Remove the oil level indicator tube and O-ring seals.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
Installation Procedure
- Install NEW O-ring seals onto the oil level
indicator tube.
- Lightly lubricate the O-ring seals with engine oil.
- Install the oil level indicator tube.
- Install the right exhaust manifold. Refer to
Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side
in Engine Exhaust.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fuel injection control module bracket bolt holding the oil
level indicator tube.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install the oil level indicator.
- Install the heater outlet hose bracket nut (1) and bolt (2).
Tighten
• | Tighten the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in). |
• | Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft). |
- Install the starter motor. Refer to
Starter Motor Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Install the right front fender wheelhouse inner panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
