Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: Ensure that the teeth of the flywheel holding tool engage the engine flywheel teeth.

Important:
• The balancer should be positioned onto the end of the crankshaft as straight as possible prior to tool installation. • Apply grease or clean engine oil to the inside of the crankshaft balancer or the end of the crankshaft, to prevent galling during assembly.
Important: Apply the lubricant that comes with J 42845 each time the tool is used. Failure to lubricate the J 42845 may prevent the balancer from installing completely.
