Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
.
- Remove the glow plug relay. Refer to
Glow Plug Relay Replacement
.
- Remove positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve hose.
- Remove the air intake pipe to turbocharger bolts.
- Remove the air intake pipe (1) from the turbocharger (3).
Installation Procedure
- Clean the mating surfaces on the air intake pipe (1) and the turbocharger
(3).
- Align the air intake pipe to the turbocharger.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the air intake pipe bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install PCV valve hose.
- Install glow plug relay. Refer to
Glow Plug Relay Replacement
.
- Install air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
.
