1. Remove the intake air resonator. Refer to Intake Air Resonator Replacement .
2. Disconnect the mass air flow(MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector (3).



3. Pull up on the air cleaner assembly (1) in order to release the retainers from the air cleaner adapter (2).



4. If necessary, loosen the MAF/IAT sensor clamp.
5. Remove the MAF/IAT sensor.

Important: If the MAF/IAT sensor is installed backwards, the fuel system goes rich. An arrow cast into the plastic portion of the sensor indicates proper air flow direction. The arrow must point toward the engine.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




1. If necessary, install the MAF/IAT sensor.
2. Tighten the MAF/IAT sensor clamp.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 7 N·m (62 lb in).




3. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector (3).
4. Install the intake air resonator. Refer to Intake Air Resonator Replacement .
