Removal Procedure
- Remove the passenger seat from the vehicle. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
- Pull the carpet back to gain access to the sensor.
- Remove
the nuts retaining the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer (2) to the vehicle.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from
the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer.
- Remove the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Important: Use care not to bend or distort the bracket that supports the yaw rate sensor/lateral
accelerometer.
- Install the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer
to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts retaining the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer (2) to
the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect
the electrical connector (3) to the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer.
- Install the carpet.
- Install the passenger seat to the vehicle. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
- Complete the lateral accelerometer procedure.
