Models:2003-2005 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT
2003-2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe

Condition

Some customers may comment that the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system does not get cold enough. Technicians may find that the air conditioning (A/C) compressor does not engage and the "A/C COMP" fuse located in the underhood fuse block may be open.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the engine compartment wiring harness rubbing on the idler arm. The plastic conduit covering the wiring harness may conceal the damage to the wires.

Correction

Technicians are to repair the engine compartment wiring harness as necessary and replace the "AC COMP" fuse. The engine compartment wiring harness is to be routed away from the idler arm and secured with plastic tie straps.
