The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment on a ABS telltale illuminated. When checking for DTCs with the Tech 2, you may encounter DTC C0550.
Recommendation/Instructions:
To correct this concern, reprogram the EBCM with new service calibration available from Techline starting April 14, 2003 on TIS2000 version 4.0 or later.
Note: On vehicles with DTC C0550 set as a current code, the EBCM cannot be calibrated due to the current DTC. If the VIN is bypassed in TIS and is entered manually or if replace and reprogram is selected, the module can be updated with a current calibration.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
