The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment on the fuel gauge is defaulting to empty and the low fuel indicator is on. When checking for DTCs with the Tech 2 the ECM could set any of the following dtcs: P0461, P0462, P0463, P1172, P1432, P1433, P2066, P2067, P2068, and/or P2636.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Engineering has developed new more robust duel fuel tank calibration. To correct this concern reprogram the ECM with calibration available from Tis2Web on October 9, 2006 or later.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
