The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may state that the Cruise Control and/or the PTO may be inoperative. If the vehicle is equipped with LED style tail/stop lamps it may be noticed that they are dimly lit. If the vehicle was originally equipped with a Center High Mount Stop Lamp (CHMSL) assembly and it has been removed, the vehicle is a cut away, or it was ordered with CHMSL delete (RPO TS9) it could have this concern.
To correct this concern locally obtain and install a 330 ohm 1/2 watt resistor in place of the CHMSL. This resistor should be installed between the power feed circuit to the CHMSL (circuit 17, 1320, or 1620) and ground, then secured to the harness.
Note: This resistor is not available from GM SPO parts and must be obtained locally.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
