Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 395686 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery cables. Refer to Battery Cable Disconnect and Connection.
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.6L in the 2005 C/K Truck Service Manual.
  3. Disconnect the generator electrical connector.
  4. Remove the cable from the output stud.

    5. Object Number: 660347 Size: SH
  5. Remove the generator bolts.
  6. Remove the generator from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 395686 Size: SH
  1. Install the cable onto the output stud of the generator.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the nut onto the output stud.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten output stud to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the generator into the mounting bracket.
  4. Install the generator bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten generator bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Connect the generator electrical connector.
  6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.6L in the 2005 C/K Truck Service Manual.
  7. Connect the battery cables. Refer to Battery Cable Disconnect and Connection.
