If the vehicle is a Cargo/Troop carrier, it may be equipped with troop seats. They provide seating for up to eight passengers in the cargo area. The seat bottoms can be lowered individually for use or folded up to provide more cargo space. The seat bottoms lock in either the up or down positions.
A quick-release pin is located on the left and right side of the troop seat leg immediately under the hinge pin.
When the seat is in the up position, the quick release pin will go through the left-hand leg and the right-hand leg of the seats. It will then go through the seat channel, to secure them in the cargo or up position.
Caution: A seat that is not locked into place properly can move around in a collision or sudden stop. That could cause injury to the person sitting there. Be sure to lock the seat into place properly when installing it.
