The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Owners may comment of the fuel gauge being inaccurate and displaying empty. There will be DTC P1172 or P2636 stored in the PCM. If the DTC is cleared, using the Tech 2, the fuel gauge will start to work correctly.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the vehicle is equipped with 6.6L diesel RPO LB7, reprogram the PCM with calibrations currently available in TIS 2000. If the vehicle is equipped with 6.6L diesel RPO LLY, new calibrations are being developed and will be available soon.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
