MODELS: 3208 AND 8.2L POWERED WITH HYDRAULIC BRAKES
TO INSURE CORRECT VACUUM SUPPLY PORTING CONNECTIONS, THE
RECOMMENDATIONS BELOW SHOULD BE FOLLOWED WHEN ADDITIONAL VACUUM SUPPLY
REQUIREMENTS ARE TO BE MET:
1.LOCATE VACUUM SUPPLY PUMP OUTLET CONNECTIONS, REMOVE FITTINGS TO
THE CHECK VALVE LEAVING THE VALVE CONNECTED TO THE PUMP. (SEE
ILLUSTRATION).
2.INSTALL TEE IN PLACE OF ELBOW. 3208 CATERPILLAR INSTALLATION MAY
REQUIRE FABRICATION OF A SHORT CONNECTOR TUBE WHICH CAN BE CONNECTED
INTO ONE SIDE OF THE TEE.
3.ACCESSORY VACUUM CONNECTIONS CAN NOW BE MADE AT THE REMAINING
TEE PORT.
4.CHECK FOR LEAKS.
THE ABOVE PLUMBING PROVIDES FOR A CHECKED VACUUM SUPPLY WITHOUT THE
REQUIREMENT TO SPLICE EXISTING VACUUM SUPPLY HOSES.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional
technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform
those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or
to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a
vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools,
safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely.
If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies
to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See
a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors
vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from
the information.
