DANA SPICER 14-INCH TWO-PLATE, PULL TYPE (6.6L DIESEL)

MEASURE (FIGURES 1 THROUGH 4) 1. MEASURE THE DISTANCE FROM THE REAR FACE OF THE RELEASE BEARING TO THE FRONT OF THE TRANSMISSION BEARING RETAINER OR CLUTCH BRAKE (IF EQUIPPED) (FIGURE 1).

A. IF 19.05 MM (0.750 IN.) ON TRANSMISSIONS WITHOUT CLUTCH BRAKE, NO ADJUSTMENT IS NECESSARY. B. IF 12.7 MM (0.50 IN.) ON TRANSMISSIONS WITH CLUTCH BRAKE, NO ADJUSTMENT IS NECESSARY. C. IF NO ADJUSTMENT IS REQUIRED, REFER TO STEP 9.

2. IF THE RELEASE BEARING POSITION IS INCORRECT, USE KWIK-ADJUST (IF EQUIPPED) OR REMOVE THE ADJUSTING RING LOCKSTRAP FOR ADJUSTMENT OF THE RELEASE BEARING (FIGURES 2 AND 3). ADJUST 3. DISENGAGE CLUTCH BY DEPRESSING THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO END OF THE PEDAL TRAVEL. 4. INSERT A 3/4 IN. 12 POINT SOCKET OR A BOXED END WRENCH THROUGH THE INSPECTION HOLE AND DEPRESS THE SQUARE HEADED BOLT TO ADJUST CLUTCH. THE KWIK-ADJUST WILL RE-ENGAGE AT A QUARTER OF A TURN. THE FLAT ON THE BOLT HEAD WILL ALIGN WITH THE FLAT EDGE OF THE BRACKET (KWIK-ADJUST ONLY). 5. TO INCREASE THE RELEASE BEARING DIMENSION; ROTATE THE ADJUSTING RING COUNTERCLOCKWISE. 6. TO DECREASE THE RELEASE BEARING DIMENSION; ROTATE THE ADJUSTING RING CLOCKWISE.

NOTICE: REFER TO "NOTICE" ON PAGE 7C-1.

7. AFTER CORRECT BEARING POSITION IS ACHIEVED; ASSURE KWIK-ADJUST IS ENGAGED IN THE LOCKED POSITION OR THE LOCKSTRAP AND BOLTS ARE IN POSITION.

TIGHTEN * LOCKSTRAP BOLTS TO 33 N.M (32 LBS. FT.).

8. RELEASE THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO ENGAGE THE CLUTCH. 9. ONLY AFTER INTERNAL ADJUSTMENT, ADJUST EXTERNAL CABLE, IF NEEDED, FOR 3.17 MM (0.125 IN.) CLEARANCE BETWEEN RELEASE YOKE FINGERS AND RELEASE BEARING.
