INFORMATION ON PAINT COLOR CODES

SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON PAINT COLOR CODES

MODELS: 1986-96 CHEVROLET TILTMASTER MODELS 1986-96 GMC FORWARD MODELS

WHEN REPAINTING IS REQUIRED ON "W" SERIES MEDIUM DUTY MODELS, CHECK THE PAINT OPTION CODE PRINTED ON THE SERVICE PARTS IDENTIFICATION LABEL, MOUNTED ON THE LEFT-HAND STEP SUPPORT PANEL, THEN REFER BELOW FOR THE COLOR NAME, PAINT CODE AND SUPPLIER CODE. IN SOME CASES, THE PAINT MANUFACTURER'S COLOR NAME MAY DIFFER FROM THE GM COLOR NAME LISTED IN THIS BULLETIN. FOR PAINT CODE INFORMATION ON SPECIAL PAINT (CODE P2), CONTACT THE PAINT MANAGER AT THE GM MEDIUM DUTY SALES ENGINEERING OFFICE, 1-800-633-4863.

IMPORTANT: COLOR MAY VARY SLIGHTLY DEPENDING ON WHICH MANUFACTURING PLANT PAINTED THE CAB. WHEN ORDERING PAINT, YOUR SUPPLIER MAY NEED TO KNOW WHERE THE TRUCK WAS BUILT. THE ELEVENTH POSITION OF THE VIN PROVIDES THE PLANT CODE.
