1989 FRENCH LABEL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (MEDIUM DUTY TRK)

SUBJECT: 1989 FRENCH LABEL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989 Medium Duty Truck

Labels are pressure sensitive; therefore, surfaces must be clean, dry, warm and free of contaminants, before labels are affixed. Labels must be pressed firmly over the entire surface.

Locate labels next to English labels, unless otherwise noted. Both labels should be readable.

Engine Compartment

1) Battery

- Place label 52350963 (long, narrow label) over original such that replacement code (bottom RH corner) is visible.

- Place label 52354601 or 52354602, (whichever is appropriate), over original English charge indicator label.

- If 1110, 1150, 1200 battery, place label 744779 over original, such that test indicator, cat. no., etc., are visible.

2) Air Cleaner

- Place label 744678 over original label so that code in top corner is not covered.

- If equipped with a Donaldson air cleaner, place label 746005 over original such that air cleaner, main element, and safety element numbers, are visible.

- If equipped with a United air cleaner, place label 744675 (dry-MD Truck), or 745998 (oil bath-MD), adjacent to original label. If equipped with dry type on HD Truck, place label 744766 over original such that air cleaner and element part numbers are visible.

- If equipped with a Fram air cleaner, place label 745999 over original such that assembly and filter replacement part numbers are visible.

3) Air Conditioning Compressor

- Place small tab section of label 744775 (744775C) over the words "Refrigerant Oil, Model No.", such that LH edge of overlay is even with LH edge of original label.

- If unit has a large square label, place "Attention" portion 744775B beneath the English "Caution" note.

- If unit has long, narrow label, place the "Attention" portion 744775A on a flat visible surface on the compressor.

- If equipped with a sleeper compartment label, place label 746421 over existing label.

4) Oil Filter Label

- If equipped with PF-932 type, place label 744746 on oil filter canister adjacent to original label.

- If equipped with PF-35 type, place label 744750 on oil filter canister adjacent to original label.

- If equipped with PM-13-10 type, place label 746417 over original such that part number and type are visible.

5) Fuel Filter Label

- If equipped with AC T-60, T-58 type filters, use label 746416 and place 746416A over primary original and 746416B over secondary original, such that fuel filter numbers are visible.

- If equipped with GF-62T type, place label 745939 over original such that fuel filter type is visible.

- If equipped with AC T-915, T-916 type filters, use label 745944 and place 745944B over primary original and 745944A over secondary original, such that oil filter and replacement types are visible.

6) Coolant Filter Label

- If equipped with type WF-100, place label 744782 completely over the original.

Cab Compartment

1) Instrument Panel Controls

If equipped with:

a) axle shift switch label, place label 746059 over the original.

b) engine stop light label, place label 744785B over the original.

c) choke control label, place label 744785A over the original
