Radiator Hose Replacement Upper

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .



3. Compress and reposition the upper radiator hose clamps to relieve tension.
4. Gently work the hose free from the radiator outlet and remove the hose.

1. Clean the thermostat housing radiator hose recess of any corrosion.
2. Install the upper radiator hose and spring clamps.

3. Connect the negative battery cable.
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Radiator Hose Replacement Lower

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .



3. Compress and slide inward the lower radiator/surge tank hose clamps at the water pump, radiator, and surge tank.
4. Remove the radiator/surge tank hoses as an assembly.

1. Install the lower radiator/surge tank hose assembly.
2. Slide the spring clamps into the tension area.
