Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator from the vehicle. Refer to Generator Replacement .
  2. Remove the tensioner from the generator bracket. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  3. Remove the idler pulley from the generator bracket. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 240931  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retaining bolts (3) and nut (2) from the generator bracket (1).
  6. Remove the generator bracket (1) from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 240931  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator bracket to the engine.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the generator bracket retaining bolts (3) and nut (2) to the generator bracket (1).
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket bolts to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).
        • Tighten the generator mounting bracket nut to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).
  5. Install the idler pulley to the generator bracket. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  6. Install the tensioner to the generator bracket. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  7. Install the generator to the vehicle. Refer to Generator Replacement .
