Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 240944  Size: SH
  3. Remove the exhaust pipe to catalytic coverter flange nuts. Support the catalytic converter.
  4. Do not cut the oxygen sensor wire. For removal disconnect the connector.
  5. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
  6. Remove the exhaust pipe nuts and seal from the exhaust manifold.
  7. Remove the exhaust pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the exhaust pipe and new seal to the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe flange and new gasket to the catalytic converter.

  2. Object Number: 240944  Size: SH
  3. Install the exhaust pipe to manifold retaining nuts.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    • Install the exhaust pipe flange nuts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust pipe to manifold nuts to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).

    • Tighten the exhaust pipe flange nuts to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).
  5. Install the exhaust tail pipe. Refer to Tail Pipe Replacement .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
