Exhaust Muffler Insulator, Hanger, and Bracket Replacement exhaust

The exhaust system uses several different hangers. Insulators are used in conjunction with the hangers to support the exhaust system.

1. Remove the nuts and the washers that secure the hanger to the frame rail.
2. Remove the hanger from the insulator.
3. Remove the hanger.

1. Install the hanger to the insulator.



2. Install the hanger to the frame rail with the nuts and the washers.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten
Tighten the hanger retaining nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
