Radiator Hose Replacement Upper

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  3. Object Number: 258843  Size: SH
  4. Compress and reposition the upper radiator hose clamps to relieve tension.
  5. Gently work the hose free from the radiator outlet and remove the hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 258843  Size: SH
  1. Clean the thermostat housing radiator hose recess of any corrosion.
  2. Install the upper radiator hose and spring clamps.

Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal.   4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Radiator Hose Replacement Lower

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  3. Object Number: 258844  Size: SH
  4. Compress and slide inward the lower radiator/surge tank hose clamps at the water pump, radiator, and surge tank.
  5. Remove the radiator/surge tank hoses as an assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower radiator/surge tank hose assembly.
  2. Slide the spring clamps into the tension area.
  3. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
