Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 247488  Size: SH
  4. Remove the nut, the bolts, and the clamps from the links.

  5. Object Number: 247489  Size: SH
  6. Remove the nuts, the washers, the bolts, and the shaft from the stabilizer bracket/spring seats.
  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft from the bracket/spring seat.
  8. Remove the insulator from the stabilizer shaft.
  9. Remove the stabilizer link nuts, washers, bolts, and the link from the bracket.
  10. Remove the stabilizer link bracket nuts, washers, bolts, and the bracket from the side member.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 247489  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the stabilizer link bracket, bolts, washers and the nuts to the side member.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  3. Install the stabilizer link, bolts, washers, and the nuts to the bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 240 N·m (177 lb ft).

  5. Install the insulators onto the stabilizer shaft.
  6. Install the stabilizer shaft to the bracket/spring seat.
  7. Install the shaft, bolts, washers, and the nuts to the stabilizer bracket/spring seat.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 240 N·m (177 lb ft).

  9. Install the clamps, bolts, and nuts to the links.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 220 N·m (162 lb ft).

  11. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
